Casey/Perkins Family Reunion

This past weekend my dad’s family had a family reunion at Lake Grapevine. The weekend started off with dinner at Spring Creek Barbecue. Since it was Abigail’s birthday my mom ordered a big peach cobbler and banana pudding for everyone to eat. I wish I had gotten a picture of her face when 50 plus people sang Happy Birthday to her – it was priceless. We had a great time catching up and meeting new people. Before we knew it it was almost 9:00 pm and we knew we needed to get home and get the girls in bed because Saturday was going to be another fun filled day.

Abigail chose to eat ice cream (no peach cobbler or banana pudding for her) and she would not let us help her. There was ice cream all over the high chair and floor, but she loved it.

Mimi came prepared with activities for the girls while we were eating dinner and talking with the family.
Here is a random picture of the family reunion at Spring Creek Barbecue…

Saturday morning we woke up earlier and headed back to Grapevine. This time we were loaded down because we were going to be staying the night and we had a lot stuff for the girls to play with at the lake.
The girls were looking for sea shells.

They had a great time playing with the cousins.

One of the grown up cousins rented a jet ski so Danny was really excited – probably more than the little kids. Kate said she wanted to go for a ride so we got a life jacket put on her and she went out with Danny. Kate was NOT a fan of the jet ski!

Mimi and the girls.

My Uncle Rocky and the girls hanging out. Abigail was in love with this scruffy dog. She was hold his leash and say “my dog I walk”.

We had such a great time hanging out with my dad’s family this weekend. We may not be able to do this yearly but I learned a lot of my distant cousins are my age, have kids the same age as the girls, and live in the DFW area, so hopefully we can all keep in touch.
