Friday Favorites – Vacation Edition

Finally made it to Friday!!  The week after a vacation is always that worst – laundry, grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning the house, laundry, getting back to our normal routine, and oh did I say laundry!!!  Then add that I still have to go to work each day to that list!!! Ugh I need another vacation. (good thing I have one already booked in FOUR weeks!!!)

This weekend we will be doing a lot of hanging out with friends for the Fourth of July holiday.  The fourth is one of my favorite holidays!!!  To kick off our weekend I wanted to share our top 5 from our vacation last week.

La Jolla Beach

This beach was so beautiful.  We sat on the sea wall for about 30 minutes and enjoyed watching the surfers and all the people playing on the beach.  This picture does not show it but the waves were so big this night.

La Jolla Seal Cove

This beach was a once in a lifetime experience for all of us.  Being so close to the seals was amazing!  If we had swimsuits on we could have gotten in the water and they would be swimming around us.  However, I had no desire to get into the water because it was so rough and it was very rocky on the coastline.

San Diego Zoo — The Panda

Abigail loves Pandas!  In fact last year I had to convince her to not have a Panda theme birthday party.  I believe she has 3 or 4 panda bears and would probably dress up like a panda for Halloween if I let her.  So of course we had to wait 30 minutes to see the Panda at the San Diego Zoo.  It was worth the wait.

Disney Land – Splash Mountain

Since Abigail finally hit a growth spurt she was tall enough to ride all the rides at Disney Land.  We waited almost 40 minutes to ride Splash Mountain – we had to wait for this ride because we had a FastPass for another ride 🙁  Abigail was in the front of the log ride and was so excited to be in the front.

San Diego – Coronado Beach

I LOVED San Diego.  If When we go back to California I want to go back to sunny San Diego.  The city was so clean, there was so much to see and do, and the beaches were beautiful.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Fourth of July Weekend!!

  1. Happy Friday! It looks like an amazing vacation. We love the seals on la jolla. We’re getting out there next month to visit family and seeing all of your pictures makes me even more excited to go! Have a great weekend 🙂 Beautifully Candid

  2. Looks like you had such a fun vacation!! One of my twin girls is obsessed with pandas, so the San Diego Zoo is on our “must do” trip list. I can’t wait to show her your pictures. 🙂 Have fun with your friends this weekend.

  3. Disneyland is such a blast. I wish I lived closer so I could go more than once every few years! Splash Mountain, though, is not my favorite. I’m not a big rides person anyway AND I hate being wet, but somehow my bffl talked me into doing Splash Mountain, and we were in the front of the log and I was so freaked out that I couldn’t even scream. haha Back to the Teacups for me! 🙂
