Christmas in July

When I saw Michelle’s topic for this week I was so excited!  Christmas is my favorite holiday (with 4th of July a close 2nd) and I love decorating my house with all things Christmas.  We typically put up four Christmas trees – one in the girl’s room, one in the game room, one in the dining room (that has all the collectible ornaments and all the ornaments the girls have made), and then the big “fancy” tree in the living room.

Like many families, we have several Christmas traditions. I’ll share with you a few of our favorites.

  1. Our annual trip to see Santa.  We have seen this the exact Santa since Abigail was born.

This year I framed all the past Santa pictures and put them on the mantle.  I love this new addition to our Christmas decorations.

2.  I LOVE mailing Christmas cards.  I probably mail over 100 cards every year! All the cards we get are hung up on our kitchen cabinets.  I am always sad when I take them down at the end of the season though.  However, I put them up with the Christmas decorations so we can look at them each year.

3.  We have an Annual Christmas Cookie Decorating party.  This past year was unseasonably warm so we held the party outside.

4.  We kick off the Christmas season with our annual North Pole Breakfast.  This is when our elf arrives… Zooby Tinkerbell.

I adore the framed Santa pictures. What a terrific idea. And the North Pole Breakfast, another tradition that is sure to be remembered. You know how to make Christmas magical for your family. I love it all. Doing this ahead of time gives others some ideas to implement early before the Christmas rush. I’ll be sharing this post on FB today! Thanks for linking – Merry Christmas!!

Thanks Michelle!! Since the girls are young and still believe in Santa I want to make it special for them each year. It is a lot of work but they are only young for a while! Thanks for the share on Facebook too! Have a a great day. 🙂

This is my first visit to your blog. I’m visiting from Christmas in July.

You have a beautiful family. My kids are grown now—24 and 26—but it seems like just yesterday they were as young as your girls. Christmas with older kids is different than with little ones, but it is still wonderful.

Those Santa photos are such a treasure. What a great idea to use previous years’ photos as part of your Christmas decorations.

    Blessings,

I loved reading this post. I also loved the picture of your girls in front of the tree. How fun to have a cookie decorating party as well!
