Friday Favorites – What’s Bringing Me JOY

Let me just say, I’m joyful that January is almost over! I love January for one reason…Kate’s birthday! Other than that, it seems like the longest month of the year. I’m so over the cold weather and being stuck inside.  I totally understand why there are several articles about how to beat the January Blues. It seems like we are busy from October to December with a lot of festive activities. Then January hits and nothing is going on and it is so depressing. I’m ready for warmer weather and outdoor sports.

I’m joyful that we have two vacations coming up!!

I can not wait to take our girls to New York City.  We will be leaving in a short 45 days or so!!

I’m also very excited about our vacation to Oahu and Maui!  It is still 5.5 months away, but with everything that we have going on this spring, it’ll be here before we know it.

My Beautiful Girls

The girls may drive me crazy some days and get on my very last nerve, but I still love them so much.  They both have very unique personalities, which can cause some challenges.  However, they are very sweet and very good kids!  Don’t get me wrong, they do fight with each other, just like all siblings, but they love to play games together, make up dances and play jokes on each other.  The one thing I love most about them is that they always stand up for each other.

My wonderful husband

Lately, I have been reminding myself to find the JOY in the little things.  With so many couples having problems nowadays, I find JOY knowing that Danny still makes me smile every day.  I look forward to his hugs and kisses.  I’ll be the first to admit that we are not perfect but as cheesy, as it sounds, he completes me.  He is my best friend.  Danny works so hard to support our family and because of this, I am joyful (and thankful) that I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom.

Finally, being able to work from home definitely brings me JOY!  I left my job of 14.5 years almost 4 months ago!  I miss my co-workers, but being able to make my own schedule is amazing!  I enjoy that I can work for Stitch Fix, volunteer at the school, and still find time to hang out with my girlfriends during the day.  And every now and then squeeze in a breakfast or lunch date with Danny.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

That it is so fun that you have the same birthday. We also talk about how it is Princess Catherine’s birthday too! I am so excited to take the girls to my favorite city! I hope they love it as much as I do.

Thanks! My girls are counting the days until we fly out. This will be our first girls trip and I am super nervous to take them somewhere by myself! Have a great weekend!

  1. LOVE that you are going coast-to-coast this year. Can’t wait to hear all about it. What a beautiful family you have, too!! Love that you are finding so much joy in the longest month of the year…for sure!

  2. You will love Oahu and Maui! We did a Hawaiian cruise a few years ago and we got to stop at all the islands. Maui was my favorite and I can’t wait to go back!

  3. January is the Monday of months! Ha! It goes on and on and on! Hawaii! That will be so much fun and so will New York! What great trips to look forward to. I bet it is so nice to work from home and make your own schedule. What a blessing! Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!
