Weekend Recap

We had so much fun this past weekend.  We crammed as much as we could into our first weekend of Spring Break.  Before we kicked off our weekend, I went up to the school to watch the girls sing during their monthly assembly.

and then it was time to load the car and head west…

We arrived at my parent’s house around 9:30 and we were all exhausted!

Saturday morning we all slept in.  I went to check on the girls and they were all cozy in bed and watching Disney.

Sitting in my parent’s living room + a cup of coffee = my happy place

My mom was at our family B&B making breakfast for the guests, so I whipped up a yummy breakfast for everyone.  Kate was my cooking assistant.  Here I am all natural — hair in a ponytail and no makeup!

Even though we were out of town that doesn’t mean that I get to take a break from my workouts.  Thankfully, my workout was only 30 minutes long because we had a lot to do Saturday!

After we all got cleaned up, we headed down to the family B&B for the reason for our trip to Matador —- my Nana’s 90th Birthday Celebration!!!

We had a lot of great food for the guests…

My nana is so blessed to have such a great legacy.  She still lives on her own and drives herself around.  She loves her family dearly and we all love her so much!! I’m so glad that I was able to be there to celebrate her 90th birthday.

Before we left Matador we had to go check on the baby kittens one last time. These little kittens are less than a week old! Their mama was giving me the evil eye when I took this picture.  The girls are dying to have a cat but I’m going to try to hold them off as long as I can because I’m not a cat person.

We left early Sunday morning and we were able to see this beautiful sunrise.

After we got home and unpacked, I squeezed in a quick leg workout.  I’m loving 80-day obsession!

We ended our weekend relaxing on the couch while watching the new season of American Idol!  Woohoo!!

Now we have a couple of days before we head off to New York!!!  Head over to my Instagram page and follow me to see our NYC adventures.

Have a great Monday!!!

  1. What a great all-round week-end! Your Nana looks amazing for 90 – those good genes must have passed to you as you can’t even tell you aren’t wearing make up in that pic you lucky thing! I will keep reading your blog for the workout tips too as I really need to start one, and if you can fit it in with two kids (I only have one plus a few fur babies) so can I – need to transform what I call my ‘baby legs’! All the Best – Joanne (Europafox Blog) x
