New York City Vacation – Day 1

Last Wednesday we got up early for our 7am flight to the Big Apple.

Finally on the plane and ready to take off.   Right before we were going to land I looked over and saw Kate reviewing the emergency landing procedures.  I started to laugh out loud!

After we dropped our stuff off at our hotel we immediately went to grab some lunch.  I snapped this picture of the girls taking in the view of Central Park.

After lunch, we went for a walk around the Central Park.  Of course, our first stop was the Gapstow bridge.  The girls were excited to see the spot where Danny proposed to me.

Then we walked down 5th Avenue to window shop and dream about what we’d buy if we were millionaires.

Next stop Rockefeller Plaza. Loved watching all of the people ice skate.

Knowing that we would be riding the subway a lot the next day so we went ahead and got our metro cards while we had time. The girls were so excited for their first subway ride ever!!

We ended our first day in the city with a dinner at the Russian Tea Room.  Our best friends were also in the city for spring break so we had planned to have a nice dinner together.  Let’s face it food is not cheap in NYC but if you want to enjoy an unbelievable dinner make reservations here. The food and decor were amazing!
