I love to see the sunrise in New York City. The city always looks so peaceful in the morning.
Our view from our hotel was amazing!
Thursday morning we woke up, grabbed a quick breakfast, and headed for the subway. Our first stop of the day was the Empire State building.
Beautiful view of NYC and New Jersey on the other side of the Hudson.
It was so windy and cold outside on the observation deck.
And of course, we needed to have a selfie on top of the Empire State Building.
After the Empire State building, we grabbed an Uber and headed to the One World Tower.
I have never been to the 9-11 museum so I was excited that we had time to be able to go to the museum. I thought I was prepared to for all of the emotions I’d experience as we entered the museum but I cried all the way through the exhibits.
After the 9-11 museum, we had a short 10-minute walk to our ferry that would take us to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Last time I was NYC we just take a boat that drove us around the Statue. This time we were going to be able to get off the ferry and go up inside the statue.
Beautiful view of the city from the Statue of Liberty.
This was the only picture I took of the girls while we were visiting the Statue of Liberty. I totally forgot to take a picture of the girls in front of the statue! Major mom fail!! I was so mad at myself.
After we hit the museum shop we boarded the ferry and headed over to Ellis Island
By the time we got inside the building, we were all exhausted. So we only spent about 30 minutes looking around. We could have stayed for 1 to 2 hours because there were so many different things to see. Hopefully, we will be able to go back another day and spend more time there.
We went back to the hotel and relaxed for a couple hours. Then Danny came to our hotel room and surprised the girls. We were all so excited to see him! We ended our busy Day 2 with a trip to Time Square!
I was so excited that Danny had a business trip to NYC and that we were able to get together for dinner.
