Hello and welcome to my review of my 18th Stitch Fix. I’ve started to receive my Fixes more frequently than normal thanks to the Style Pass that Stitch Fix has offered to a group of customers. When you have the Style Pass you pay $49 for a one-year membership and never pay the $20 styling fee for any scheduled fixes! WIN!! This is really great for me because as a stylist I love being able to see some pieces in person and see how they actually fit. If they don’t work for me I just send them back and I didn’t lose my $20 styling fee. Woohoo! Now let’s take a look at my Fix.
I very rarely pick jewelry for myself because let’s be honest I have way too much jewelry that I never wear and I don’t need to keep adding to my collection. However, I picked this cute bracelet set BAUBLEBAR – Riri Bracelet Set- $36. It’s different but I love it!
VERDICT – Kept
I have had my eye on this beautiful dress from ELIZA J. – Daytona Maxi Dress ($158) for several months. The dress is WAY more than I’d ever spend on a dress but I had to try it on because I wanted to see how it looked on me. I also wanted to know why it was $158. When I tried this dress on I instantly knew why it was $158. It fit my body perfectly and the material was so nice. I LOVED THIS DRESS!!! However, I’m 5’3″ and I’d need to have this dress tailored. When I took this picture I was wearing 3 or 4-inch wedges and the dress was still dragging the ground.
VERDICT – Returned (insert me crying!)
I’ve been looking for some cute workout tops, so I picked the top from GOOD HYOUMAN – Rollina Knot Front Knit Top ($44). I’ve never spent $44 on a workout top but this top was so cute on. This top looks great with workout pants or worn casually with denim shorts.
I’m still in the process of picking tops for our summer vacation. When I say this top from DANIEL RAINN – Vivienne Floral Print Sleeveless Blouse ($58) I thought it was perfect for an island vacation. This top does have an attached cami and I’ll be honest that it drives me crazy! However, I loved the top so much I decided to look past that part of the top.
VERDICT – Kept
This is another dress that I’ve had my eye on for several months. I finally decided that I had to have this dress from WISP – Tressa Ponte Dress ($74) after several clients raved how much they loved this dress. If you like fitted dresses then this dress is for you. This dress fits me perfectly and I love how it shows off my curves.
VERDICT – Kept
I decided to include my review for Fix #19 with this post because it does not deserve its own post. This Fix was not great at all! Looking back at all of my past Fixes I’ve always kept at least one item, however, I sent all FIVE items back!!! I was so unhappy with each piece that I didn’t even want to take the time to take a picture of them.
The first top was Laju – Janero Ruffle Sleeve Detail Cotton Top ($58). I’ve never been a fan of off the shoulder tops but I wanted to give this style another try. This top was super cute from the front and I loved the fit. However, from behind I look like a have a tail! It’s what they call a “hi lo” top and I hate that style! (RETURNED)
Next up was the Kate Spade – Dolores Small Crossbody ($128). I loved this item, however, you could only wear it as a crossbody. You could detach the chain but it did not have a wristlet attachment! I was looking for a clutch that also had a wristlet attached. (RETURNED)
I’m currently looking for a new pair of sneakers and recently a friend told me how much she loved her Toms –Cabrillo Canvas Lace-Up Sneaker ($75). These shoes were HORRIBLE!!! They felt like cardboard on my feet. I’ll NEVER send these shoes to anyone unless they specifically ask for a pair of Toms sneakers. (RETURNED)
The top from Splendid – Casey V-Neck Tee ($48) was very soft and comfortable. However, I could not justify spending $48 on this top because my favorite knit tops from Target are a quarter of this price. (RETURNED)
These two Fixes show that sometimes you don’t love each piece that your stylist picks for you but it’s always fun to try new styles. I’m really glad that I picked the items in Fix #19 so that I could feel the fabric and really see how it fits my body type. So even though I sent everything back it has helped me as a stylist.
If you decide to sign up for Stitch Fix (which everyone should at least try it once) just remember you don’t have to LOVE every item.
