Hawaiian Vacation Day 1 & Day 2

We’ve been planning and saving for this trip to Hawaii for the past two years. We told the girls a few years ago that we’d take them to Hawaii for our 15th wedding anniversary and they were so excited.  I thought this day would never come and finally, it was time to board the plane to Honolulu.

We left DFW around 7am and then had a layover in LA for about one hour. Then we boarded our plane for the five-hour flight to Honolulu.

When we arrived in Hawaii it was around 1pm and we were all starving and tired!

However, once we got to the hotel we changed and headed straight to the pool and beach. Let me just our resort was amazing!!! When we were in Hawaii for our honeymoon we saw this resort and said one day we will be able to afford to stay in that place. Fast forward 15 years we were there!!

We ended our first day with dinner at Benihana’s and Abigail fell asleep at the table!!

The next day we woke and headed to pick up our rental car for the day.  Our first stop for the day was Dole Plantation.

The best part of visiting the Dole Plantation is you can buy a DOLE WHIP!!!  If you’ve ever been to Disney you know what I’m talking about.  However, these Dole Whips were so much better than the ones we had at Disney.

Then we were off to North Shore. We stopped along the coast to see these huge sea turtles up close and personal.

Next we began our journey up into the mountains to go to the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout

We finally arrived…

Beautiful view of the east side of the island.

And our final stop of the day was our favorite beach on Oahu…Sherwood Forest.

When decided to hit the pool when we got back to the hotel. And of course, Abigail fell asleep on the lounge chair.

That night we had made reservations at the same restaurant we went to while on our honeymoon – The Orchid. This restaurant is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Honolulu.  The food is amazing and you have a wonderful view of the ocean.
